Any parent will tell you, the parent role has a lot more challenge than they could have ever expected. Many look back and say it was a moment of sheer madness - when they threw care and contraceptives to the wind and took the plunge into parenting. In contrast I also meet many people (in fact its often the same people as from the previous group) who says that it is the most besotting, deliciously addictive, best-ever decision they have made – and they wouldn’t have it any other way.

This is a great chance to get to know us and better find out how we might be able to support you or your family. Im not a big Royal follower but when a new baby arrives I think we all naturally pay a bit of attention. Didn't Kate look so normal - happy but tired - displaying her post-baby bump which makes us all feel a whole lot more normal. They both made sweet comments about the baby showing their obvious attachment and curiosity with the new member of their family. William spoke of wanting to get to know his son and has taken a couple of weeks off duty. Kate is also drawing close to her parents for that extra support - I think there are a few telltale signs that things are looking good for the little Prince. Early or late introduction of solids may be linked to diabetes. There a fair bit of discussion around the ideal time to introduce solid foods to a baby. Six months is often flagged as the approximate time to start the process, sometimes adjusted according to the babies interest, appetite, family history of allergies and cultural background. But what are the implications of an earlier or later introduction?
8 out of 10 dads say they always wanted a baby, outstripping the number of mums who say the same2/7/2013 This is not too surprising – just talk to some Dads and you’ll find they really value their kids and family. (recent US study by by Associated Press-WE TV) http://www.pressherald.com/news/Poll-Most-men-aspire-to-be-dads.html Also in the story I note that “Dads were more likely than moms in the poll to say they saw positive effects from fatherhood on their love life and career”
But there is even more interesting research that I am fascinated by… I was suprised to discover that I had something in common with Hillary Clinton - but here it is! Too Small To Fail is an American initiative hot off the press - she makes a strong case that our future success as a people depends upon nurturing our children especially in those first few years of life. Its features Dr Shonkoff from Harvard- my alltime hero:) Using research on child brain development he makes the point that warm and responsive parenting is vital to raise a healthy, robust child. Finally, a campaign that places merit on the many unseen acts of kindness it takes to be a parent. Bring it on! Sharon. Today we discovered another 3-kid Perth family that share something in common with us - they're in love with families! We caught up withTristan and Monica of ButterBomb who do some amazing family photography. These guys really appreciate the specialness of relationship between family members and somehow manage to capture it in a image - an image that can be kept and revisited, telling a story, a shared experience, a reminder for a lifetime.
We think their photos are wonderfully natural and capture the essence of the joy and delight in being family. We've tried to do this over the years with our family, and treasure some of the moments that have been snapped at various stages, at particular places or milestone events. It is rare to catch our whole family (and the dog) in natural interaction though - especially with the camera on timer and balancing on a chair! Tristan - I think we need your help!
